It’s been a while since my last post (and my last trip). I haven’t traveled since NYC for work back in late June. I must have missed blogging about it since it was a busy month for me.
- Organizing one-on-one meetings between 25 U.S. small businesses and 15 foreign buyers from Canada, India, and Europe at the Summer Fancy Food Show.
- Drinking pisco sours and eating Peruvian food at Raymi with my colleagues.
- Fulfilling my childhood dream of seeing The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway.
So what adventures do I have coming up for the remainder of the year?
San Francisco in September – My mom and I are taking a long weekend at the end of the month to visit my sister. The farthest West I have ever been is Austin, Texas so I am looking forward to finally seeing California & its beautiful coast. Madelyn will be playing the tour guide & I am thrilled to experience some California dreaming.
Phantom of the Opera (yes, again!) – Go figure, the same year I am able to see Phantom on Broadway, the musical FINALLY visits to New Orleans. My grandmother constantly played the soundtrack when I was younger and I fell in love with the music. Given how wonderful the musical was in New York, I could not pass up the opportunity to see it again. Since my birthday is the same month, my friends decided to treat me for my birthday present!
Food Hotel China Trade Show in Shanghai – The organization I work for will have 6 exhibitors at the upcoming Food Hotel China show and my supervisor is sending me along to help manage our pavilion. Since we have never been to China, Jonathan is tagging along as well. Our visas are in Houston being processed as I type this so fingers crossed that everything is in order!
Winter Conference in Miami – Each spring our organization has a conference in New Orleans and each winter we have a conference in one of our member states. This year is Florida’s turn and I am excited that they chose Miami as the location to host the meeting. We use these conferences as a chance to strategize for the upcoming year as well as take a look at past performance to see what can be improved. Since my BFF(F) lives in Fort Lauderdale, I am going to take advantage of her hospitality and spend some time with her, her husband, and her adorable doggy.
Here’s to new adventures and what the rest of 2014 has in store for me!
